Jail

The Lincoln County Jail Division is responsible for the housing management and safe transport of Lincoln County inmates to and from Court appearances. They also monitor safety in the courtrooms, manage courthouse security and active warrants.

The daily operations of the Jail Division are directed by Lieutenant Knutson, formerly of the South Dakota Highway Patrol. Lieutenant Knutson has been with Lincoln County since 2018.

Lincoln County contracts with the Minnehaha County Jail to house inmates. To check the status of an inmate, please visit  Who's Behind Bars.

If you have questions regarding the status of a Lincoln County inmate, please contact Lieutenant Knutson as Minnehaha County is not able to release further inmate information.
